Mark Sadler
Executive Director

Mark is a passionate and compassionate individual who brings a wealth of experience to the treatment centres from various facets of his life.
Formerly involved in managerial roles in the fast paced corporate world, when blessed with the opportunity to play a major part in helping others to a new and much better life, he jumped at the chance. Mark understands the importance of making the decision to attend treatment and the serenity that comes with the knowledge that you have chose the treatment center that is right for you. Mark has vowed since the inception that Top of the World Treatment Centers will conduct it self in all aspects with the utmost integrity. He feels when you talk with us on the phone and view our website you will get an immediate sense of that integrity. Mark’s number one goal has been to find the best staff available and he sincerely feels that not only has that goal been met but has exceeded his high expectations.

 

Dr. Ronald Lim, BSc, MD, CCSAM, CASAM, CISAM
Medical Director

Ron combines his passion for addiction treatment with his experience and expertise to help maximize the effectiveness of our programs at Top of the World Treatment Centres. Dr. Lim attended the University of British Columbia where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry as well as a Doctor of Medicine degree.  Over the last 7 years he has been practicing Addiction Medicine. He is certified by the International Society of Addiction Medicine, American Society of Addiction Medicine and the Canadian Society of Addiction Medicine.   He is presently Clinical Lecturer for the Faculty of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry at the University of Calgary. He is Medical Director for the Addiction Network and consulting physician for the Chronic Pain and Addiction Service and Concurrent Disorders Program of the Foothills Addiction Centre in the Calgary Health Region.  He also is consulting physician to AADAC"s (Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission) Opiate Dependency Program and AADAC's Renfrew Detoxification Centre.   He is also involved in the Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons' methadone guidelines committee and is one of the presenters for the college's methadone workshops.  He regularly gives presentations for the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Medicine Continuing Medical Education on topics related to Addiction, Chronic Pain and Methadone Maintenance.

 

Linda Mackenzie, BSW, RSW, MAC
Approved for Psycho/Social Interventions.

Linda is a registered social worker since 1988 with a bachelor of social work degree and is approved from the Alberta Association of Social Workers to conduct psychosocial   interventions.   She also holds a Masters of Counseling and has over 20 year’s clinical experience. Linda has extensive training in chemical and co-dependency, and trauma healing for individuals, couples and families. She is the founder of the Mackenzie Center and was the driving force behind the Calgary Institute for Trauma that was successfully run for seven years. She also has extensive experience in group design, implementation and facilitation in areas of trauma, chemical dependency and aftercare groups.

She has been a guess speaker, consulted, and presented to non-profit and profit organizations around the globe and is known as a recognized expert in the field of addictions and trauma, family healing and self-care. Linda is also known as a visionary for her volunteerism in her community in the field of addictions for 30 years supporting 12 step programs in the Calgary area.

Counseling Models used are client centered that reflects safety, empathy, unconditional positive regard, genuineness, warmth, and respect for the client at all times. Lind has been trained extensively under the supervision of George Boucher, former clinical director of Onsite and she has trained as a psychotherapist all of her clinical career. Her models reflect this training and assist the client in healing from chemical and co-dependency and trauma that promotes positive and lasting change. Other models are chosen that fit the needs of the client through careful assessment and treatment planning in collaboration with the client –counselor relationship.

 

Jessi, Masters (candidate) in Counselling Psychology
Clinician

Upon meeting Jessi, her passion for working with others is readily apparent. She feels honored in being able to join our clients as they work through their addictions and find their way into a healthy sober recovery. Jessi believes that while her education, training and experience are effective, her true gift is helping to bring out the strengths that each person has within them to create their own sustainable positive life changes. Beyond sobriety, Jessi works with our individual clients to find out what recovery means to them. Jessi comes to us with years of experience in the field of counselling, specializing in several areas such as depression, anxiety, family counselling, trauma, life transition, domestic abuse, and self esteem. After working with several clients through their addictions in her general counselling practice, Jessi’s passion ignited to specialize in the field of addictions three years ago. Here at Top of the World, Jessi is ‘multifaceted’, as she provides assessments, individual treatment, family & partner counselling support, relapse prevention and group therapy.

 

Jenny Hollinshead

A sense of humour and caring nature will be the first attributes you notice when you meet Jenny. Her passion for supporting clients struggling with addiction issues is apparent in her strength based, client centred approach. With a Master’s of Arts in Counselling Psychology, Jenny will register as a provisional psychologist by Summer, 2010. Although she recently joined the Top of the World Treatment Team, she has years of counselling experience in the fields of addiction, domestic violence, sexual abuse, trauma, anxiety, depression, and stress management. Jenny possesses a holistic attitude toward counselling and toward her life in general. She acknowledges and encourages strengths clients bring to counselling, and feels honoured to be a part of the clients healing journeys towards happy, healthy, sober lives.

 

Meagan, Diploma - Business Admin Management
Clinical Services Administrator

Meagan is the first contact for many current and future clients of Top of the World Calgary. She has worked in the addictions field for the past 3 years, fulfilling various administrative roles. Meagan places clients as a priority, ensuring she provides the client with the utmost confidentiality and privacy. Meagan understands how challenging that first call can be, and help each client be made to feel comfortable and at ease. More than a business administrator, Meagan has a passion for the addictions field, understanding how important it is to receive support in order to live a clean and sober life. Seeing the positive changes in clients day after day is what she feels really makes her job worthwhile.
