At Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre we believe that our Circle of Care offers the best opportunity for the assessment and the treatment of alcohol & drug addiction and co-occurring disorders such as depression & anxiety, that is available anywhere. We understand that this is a bold statement. The following is how we back up this statement.
Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre is a highly regarded residential treatment centre with an exceedingly qualified and compassionate staff that offers to our clients a very successful treatment program. We located on a 600 acre ranch, that is surrounded by stunning wilderness on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains near Fort Steele British Columbia and yet we are only a 15 minute drive to the Kootenay’s largest city, Cranbrook, BC.
Through our Edmonton satellite location we offer our clients from the greater Edmonton and surrounding areas a complete circle of care.
What does this circle of care look like?
Here is an example: When a client calls our phone number, through our communication with this client and the information that we gain, we help the potential client to determine their next best step.
The following are the likely scenarios of the next best step:
Addictions Assessment:
The client is not sure what they need or if in fact they are addicted or abusing drugs or alcohol, and they may also feel depressed and/or suffer from anxiety. They may be bewildered as to what to do. They know that something must change but are not sure what this change needs to be.
With this knowledge, we offer this client an addictions severity assessment at one of our Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre satellite offices. This assessment will provide a great deal of information to this client in many areas of their life and will help clarify for the client and the counselor that provides the assessment, the steps that should be taken as a result of gaining this in depth information.
If the client is best served by attending residential treatment and the treatment centre of choice is Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre, the fee for this assessment will be deducted from the client’s fee for treatment and arrangements will be made to attend treatment at Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre.
It may be determined that another treatment centre is the best choice for a particular client and arrangements will be made to help our client to attend treatment at another centre.
If the client is best served by an addictions counselor, all of our counselors are highly qualified, compassionate, and experienced in helping our clients to move forward and away from their alcohol or drug addiction, or alcohol or drug abuse as the case may be.
Directly to Treatment:
Often a client will know that the time has come for them to attend treatment and no assessment is necessary to confirm this information. This is not a problem, this is a solution. When a client calls Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre directly, together we fill out an MIR which is a minimum information record to help us both better understand the clients needs before they arrive to treatment at Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre. Upon arrival at the Ranch, all of our clients will complete the addictions severity index to allow us both, the client and the ranch, to put the best plan in place for our client’s success.
After Treatment:
All clients that have attended and completed their addictions treatment at Top of the World Ranch Treatment Centre are offered two prepaid, pre-arranged addictions counselling & continuing care sessions with one of our addictions counselors. By having the continuing care sessions pre-arranged and pre-paid as part of their recovery plan, our clients find that they leave treatment much more confident and ready to move forward on their life journey. Often, the client will continue with their counselling sessions as they derive great benefit and become more invested in their recovery and their future.

This is why our circle of care is so important, this is why our circle of care works. A Recovery plan that includes levels of support after treatment is a vital part of successful recovery from addiction.
